Steve Earle/Strawberry Fields/Beatles mono

Steve Earle put on "Strawberry Fields" during his Sirius Outlaw Country show the other night and boy did that thing jump out. What in the hell were those boys up to, and what did we do to deserve it? Lemmy's purchase of Beatles mono box (prev post) made me curious and I checked out some reviews on amazon. First one prefers mono, he listened to them all mono and stereo on audiophile equipment, said the stereo remix had harsher sound. He also said original British vinyl stereo of Sgt Peppers was the best of all. This guy really appreciates Ringo's drumming and I want to delve into that a little more because I am skeptical even though I love the guy (the version I know, the one I read about--isn't that exactly who he is?)
